Manistry was started in 2008 out of a ministry I ran called ‘The Group’ which was aimed at ’18 to married’ young adults as well as group discipleship meetings among the elders of Living Hope Christian Church. The need was for frank, open ministry that men needed that went a bit beyond what was acceptable for a Sunday Service when it needed to.
Back then, we met in the open coffeehouse of Barnes & Noble Bookstore and discussed a variety of issues as well as the book ‘Cost of Discipleship’ by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and ‘Making of a Leader’ by Frank DiMazio. Several sessions were ministered at Sunday Services such as ‘Find a Ruby, not a piece of Glass’ pertaining to men’s desire for a woman, not necessarily a woman of God and why that is important.
